The SBB sites in the rail area between Zurich main station and Altstetten represent one of the last significant development zones in Zurich. With the forthcoming transformation of the SBB workshops, this 42 000 square metre site will evolve from an industrial facility into an attractive hub for commercial innovation, industrial businesses, and start-ups, as well as a cultural centre. Over the next 20 years, Werkstadt Zürich will develop into a vibrant area for work and leisure, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding neighbourhoods to create a new urban space.
